Validity Foundation (formerly the Mental Disability Advocacy Centre – MDAC) is looking for a Project Assistant to join the team in our Budapest office on a fixed term, two-year contract. The post-holder will provide administrative and substantive support in two areas of Validity’s work: i) a European Commission funded research and advocacy project across seven countries aiming to ensure access to information and effective communication for victims of crime with disabilities in criminal justice processes and ii) the litigation work, which is at the centre of Validity’s mission to promote, protect and defend the rights of people with mental disabilities.

The postholder will report to the Project Manager of the European Commission funded project and will work closely with Validity’s Litigation Managers and Co-Executive Directors. Across both areas, s/he will be responsible for tasks including maintaining filing systems and documentation, organising meetings, liaising with partner organisations, providing logistical support for remote and in-person events and other administrative duties in-line with these.

With a high school qualification and at least two-years work experience in a professional field, the position-holder will have a demonstrable commitment to equality, human rights, and/or ending discrimination against persons with disabilities. The post-holder will be fluent in English, highly organised and adept at creating and managing administrative systems, with a positive attitude towards building and maintaining effective professional relationships. Note: Candidates must hold the right to reside and work within the European Union; preference will be given to people who self-identify as having a disability. This position will be based at Validity’s headquarters in Budapest.
