  • Part-time, net HUF 200-220,000 depending on experience

Established in 1951, IOM is a Related Organization of the United Nations, and as the leading UN agency in the field of migration, works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.

Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Office and direct supervision of the Senior Project Assistant, the incumbent will be responsible for assisting victims of human trafficking.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the implementation of projects dealing with victims of trafficking.
  2. Keep the Senior Project Assistant informed of all stages of project implementation.
  3. Assist with the preparation and facilitation of return of victims of trafficking from destination countries.
  4. Assist with the case management of victims of trafficking.
  5. Assist in the reintegration of project beneficiaries, which includes inter alia the following tasks:
    • Maintain direct contact with beneficiaries by phone and regularly visiting them at their place of residence.
    • Identify the beneficiaries' individual needs, assist them in the preparation of a reintegration plan, conduct risk assessment, monitoring interviews, assists victims in accessing victim support and other services.
    • Assist in the scheduling and use of reintegration grant for beneficiaries and assists in the procurement of goods and services covered by the reintegration support.
    • Keep records of all information related to the return and reintegration process (procurement, services used etc.) for documentation/clarification requests.
  1. Assist in the coordination with partner organizations operating shelters/temporary housing. Assist in reintegration process and ensures administration and that the necessary information is obtained from the organizations.
  2. Conduct quarterly monitoring interviews as well as a final interview with beneficiaries. Collects, analyses, and evaluates monitoring interviews.
  3. Participate in official meetings, events and travelling as required.
  4. Assist the supervisor in monitoring the project implementation activities according to plan.
  5. Provide data and assist with the drafting of project progress reports and final report, complying with the reporting.
  6. Assist with the preparation of external and internal audits related to the project.
  7. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Social Pedagogy, Pedagogy, Psychology, Sociology and a related field with one year of relevant professional experience, or
  • Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with three years of relevant professional experience 

Experience

  • Experience in the field of counter-trafficking is an advantage.
  • Experience with project implementation is an advantage.
  • Experience in working with an international organization is an advantage.
  • Experience in working with vulnerable groups, especially with victims of trafficking is a distinct advantage.

Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office package.
  • Strong organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently against tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of social and development issues is required.
  • Valid driving licence for Hungary is required.

Languages

  • Fluency in English and Hungarian (oral and written) is required for the position;
  • Working knowledge of any other IOM official languages is an advantage.
