Terre des hommes Foundation “Lausanne” in Hungary is recruiting a Project Assistant for supporting the emergency response related to Ukraine crisis.
Terre des hommes Foundation “Lausanne” in Hungary is establishing teams to provide emergency help to refugees from Ukraine, both at the border crossings and other locations where refugees are relocated/accommodated. This emergency intervention will directly address humanitarian assistance to children and their families.
Start date: as soon as possible
Contract: full time, fixed-term employment contract until 30 June 2023.
Gross Salary: 487 998 HUF/month

Terre des hommes (Tdh) is the leading Swiss child relief agency, founded in 1960. The Headquarters (HQ) are in Lausanne, We are currently active in 30 countries (in Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East and Latin America}. Our projects focus on child protection, mother and child health, migration, access to justice for children, and emergency relief.
Terre des hommes opened its Regional Office/ Hub in Budapest in 2006. The Regional Hub develops and implements regional projects with partners across Europe. Our regional advisors provide support to colleagues in other countries in Europe — Albania, Kosovo, Greece, Romania, Moldova and Ukraine. One of our key projects for children in Hungary is the FabLab in Gyor. We also very proud of our Child Protection Hub project. Through our Emergency Project we support people who fled the war in Ukraine and are transiting or taking refuge in Hungary.
What to do
- takes part in the Emergency Project team daily, operational work, meetings and planning. As a project team member supports the work of project officers and the project manager.
- Follow up the to-do list linked to the activities of the Emergency Project.
- translates supporting documents linked to the Emergency Project.
- gives support in the administration of financial processes
- collecting, structuring and preparing information for meetings, reports, summaries
- writing meeting minutes both in Hungarian and English depending on needs
- coordination of the documentation of procurement and logistics activities adhering the relevant administrative and logistical regulations and procedures
- gives support in stock management
- drafting supplier contracts
Requirements:
- Experience in administrative positions preferably for an international or local organization.
- Experience in project-based work is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent record keeping and documentation skills.
- Experience in a humanitarian sector is an asset.
- Fluent Hungarian and English in written and oral.
- Proactive attitude and ability to work independently
- Strong problem-solving focus
- Flexible approach to work and be able to handle a variety of tasks with minimal supervision
- Commitment to providing support to other team members.
- Systematic, precise, and analytical approach to data
- Ease of using basic computer programs
