Job Title: Financial Assistant
Reports To: Financial Manager and Office Director
Location: Budapest, Hungary
Effective Date: December 1, 2011 or as soon as ideal candidate identified
Term: 1-year fixed-term contract (renewable)
Purpose of Position:
To support the Financial Manager with all aspects of the financial operations of the IIE European Office, including accounting, reporting, petty cash and bank transactions, employee reimbursements, financial closing, and auditing. The selected candidate will work closely with program staff to ensure smooth and timely delivery of high quality outputs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. IIE may add, change, or remove essential and other duties at any time.
- Responsible for complying with applicable contract and sponsor requirements and following all IIE policies and procedures
- Provides ongoing administrative assistance to the Financial Manager and other designated staff.
- Supports the maintenance of office accounts.
- Maintains internal financial control procedures and ensures that all local statutory requirements are met.
- Supports accurate and timely reporting to headquarters and program sponsors.
- Occasional office management duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Skills Required:
- Chartered accountant qualification is a must, college or university degree is an advantage.
- At least 2-3 years of demonstrated experience in a similar position will be considered favorably.
- Proficiency with technology, especially word processing, databases and spreadsheets.
- Ability to organize and process a heavy workload under strict deadlines.
- Attention to detail.
- Fluency in Hungarian, good working knowledge in spoken and written English.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, should be a good team member with a friendly, responsive personality.
- Interest in international education.
